The Elecraft transceiver can run 15 hours on an internal lithium battery pack. The connection to the dual conversion 28 to 10.368 MHz transvertor, mounted on the dish, is taken directly from the band pass filters and is diplexed with the RX/TX control to provide one cable connection to the dish. A second cable carrying 15 volts at up to 3 amps is connected to the dish
The transceiver was assembled by KF6C in about 2 days. Any parts of the HF 15 watt power amplifier that might have presented problems to the way the transverter is hooked up or could cause any power consumption have been left out. The RS 232 adapter option has been added and will hook to a Sony viaoTR3A computer probably running Ham Radio Deluxe, http://hrd.ham-radio.ch/ via a serial to USB adaptor. The DSP section has not been added as it was considered that possible power consumption could not be justified.
